DJA RESERVE

This eco-tourism package takes you to the discovery of the Dja Fauna Reserve, located in the South-East of Cameroon. 
We will meet the Ba'aka pygmy people, the oldest civilizations in Cameroon. They will immerse you in their world and you will discover their way of life, beliefs, and ancestral practices of these native people from village to village within the Dja reserve area. We shall discover amongst others a magnificent virgin forest, with giant trees, an extraordinary nature which shelters men, animals and the ecology. Walk through the several indescribable landscapes within the virgin rainforest with exceptional canopies formed by leaves and branches of triennial trees and be seduced by the sounds of birds, monkeys and other wild animals all day long.
The Mefou Primates Sanctuary and the Residence of Dr. Eugene Jamot (who fought against sleeping sickness pandemic in Cameroon) at Ayos are also on the agenda.

Yaounde - Somalomo - Dja Reserve - Yaounde
Day 1: Airport - Yaounde
Pickup at airport, transfer to hotel & overnight.
Day 2: Yaounde - Somalomo
Drive to Somalomo & cross the Dja River by ferry to pygmy village for overnight in tents.
Day 3 - 5: Dja Forest
Departure to Schouam located 10 km from village. Observe animals roving here & get photo shoots. Continue to the bais & observe elephants, gorillas, sitatunga, bongos and birds on the straps. Overnight in tents.
Day 6 & 7: Dja Forest - Somalomo

Wake up & observe animals in the bais. Walk back to Somalomo. Overnight in tents mid-way in the forest. Continue walk the next morning until arrive Somalomo. Swim in the Dja River & overnight in a guesthouse.
Day 8 Somalomo - Yaounde
Drive to Yaounde. Arrival and overnight in 3* hotel.
Day 9 Yaounde - Mefou National Park - Airport
Take off to Mefou N. P to visit endangered primates. Return to Yaounde & visit to the National Museum. City tour and drive to airport for home flight

AKOK BEKOE MYSTERIOUS CAVE

This tour as a remedy to pleasantly halt the continuous hustling and bustling of city life of the working class and entrepreneurs.
is a day trip to the Akok Bekoe Mysterious Caves, found in the southwest of Mbalmayo and consists of six grottoes and alveoli distributed around the village of Akok Bekoe. It is also refered to as the caves of pygmies, resulting from the fact that pygmies previously lived in the caves.
The "mother cave" is a place of worship and hosts a small catholic church. The «Cave of four doors» is so rugged and delicate to crawl through but be rest assured you will do it with much fun.

7:30am:
Pick up at your hotel

8:00am:
Departure to Akok-Bekoe via the town of Akono
Stop over at the Saint Paul Catholic Cathedral Akono for a brief visit and photo shots
Drive to Akok-Bekoe Village

10:30am:
Arrival at Akok-Bekoe Village and start of the visit of its grottoes

12:30pm:
End of guided visit and return to Yaounde via the town of Mbalmayo

2:00pm:
Arrival at Yaounde
Lunch in an African restaurant
End of excursion
